At St Mary's we embrace the principles of Catholic Social Teaching! At the heart of our faith lies the belief that our Catholic values should guide our actions in the world. This teaching originates from Scripture, the writings of popes and holy individuals, as well as the inspiring examples set by Christians throughout history. As Jesus tells us, we are called to love God and to love our neighbour – and let’s remember, that means every neighbour, without exception!

By living out these teachings, we can create a world filled with justice, love, and peace, ensuring everyone has what they need. Pope Francis reminded us that “each of us has a part to play,” and chances are, we're already making a difference in our own lives!

At St Mary’s, we incorporate the CAFOD Catholic Social Teaching characters alongside their key statements to help our pupils grasp these vital principles.

Excitingly, we are also working toward the Live Simply Schools award with CAFOD, an award deeply rooted in the teachings of Jesus and Catholic Social Teaching. Together, we can make a real impact and encourage one another on this journey!
